AMISHA PATEL.............

Amisha patel comes from a family of very high profile. but this indian damsel never dreamt of becoming an actress. She was a true beauty with brains combo. Amisha Patel was born on 19th June 1979 in Mumbai. She was a strongly determined girl who just believe in achieving her dreams. She was a Biogenetic Engineer graduate in Tufts university in the United States. She’s not just an engineer from Tufts University, but also a gold Medallist in Economics.

Amisha Patel is the daughter of Amit Patel and Asha Patel, sister of Ashmit Patel and the granddaughter of the famous Indian lawyer Rajni Patel.
She received a degree in Economics from Tufts University, U.S. During her time at Tufts, she taught a conversational Hindi class. She also studied classical Indian Bharatnatyam dance. Her name Amisha was derived from the first three letters of her father's name Amit and the last three letters of her mother's name Asha.

Her brother Ashmit's name was also derived similarly first three letters of his mother's name Asha and the last three letters of his father's name Amit. She caught the eye of Bollywood director Rakesh Roshan at a Mumbai party. He signed her to appear with his son, Hrithik Roshan, in his next film project. She was raised by her grandmother Nani. She grew up speaking three Indian dialects, Hindi, Gujrati and Marathi -- sometimes in the same sentence. She is said to have a strained relationship with her parents and brother, Ashmit Patel. She is romantically related to Bollywood director Vikram Bhatt.

Amisha did join a financial company but this job could not hold on her interest for a long period of time. She joined Satyadev Dubey's theatre group and started doing plays. Her family was initially not very happy with her decision because she came from a very high society family and was also academically brilliant. But then no one has a say before the destiny.

It was at a family dinner at the Roshan's house that Mr. Rakesh Roshan offered the heroine role in 'Kaho Na pyaar Hai' to her which was earlier given to Kareena Kapoor. Amisha Patel stole hearts with her impressive performance in the film opposite Hrithik Roshan, the biggest Bollywood blockbuster of 2000. Other films, she worked in were Suno Sasurji with Aftab, Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage with Hrithik, Yeh hai Jalwa with Salman, Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar, all of which bombed at the box office. Then came Gadar, one of the biggest blockbusters in the history of Indian cinema, in which she gave a mind boggling performance and thus she came up in the line of top actresses. She recieved a host of awards for this stupendous performance.

Her forthcoming films include much awaited The Rising opposite Aamir Khan, Elaan, Vaada and Jeevan Saathi. On a personal front Amisha patel is a very simple girl who hates hypocrisy. She is a shy girl with a good sense of humor and believes that her family is the biggest strength for her.

Amisha whenever she hits a low, she bounced back with one major hit that saved her the blues. Be it Gadar or then Humraaz. Now she is reapeating this in the form of historical The Rising a Ketan Mehta and Aamir Khan's projects.

Amisha Patel was born on 19th June 1979 in Mumbai. For studies she went to abroad. Determination has been one of her strengths. Even when she was in Standard IV, Amisha was sure that she wanted to be the head girl of the school. When she told her mother about it, she laughed it off. Amisha worked towards her goal by improving upon her academic record and by the time she reached Standard XII, she became one. While doing Economics in the United States, Amisha kept herself busy teaching classical dance in her free time.

A gold medalist in economics from Tuft's University, Boston, and the granddaughter of freedom fighter Late Justice Rajni Patel, Amisha Patel's background did not even remotely suggest that she was going to be an actor one day. But destiny sure had a course chalked out for her, and when her father's schoolmate Rakesh Roshan asked her if she would like to be cast opposite his son Hrithik in 'Kaho naa…' Amisha grabbed the opportunity. The role of an exhuberant college girl in love, going through pain at losing her lover and rediscovering a more mature relationship gave Amisha scope to perform. And plenty of adulation on release as the film has turned out to be a smashing success.

Amisha soon followed the success of Kaho naa.. with Gadar, which went on to create quite a bit of a stir across the country. She was later seen in movies like Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne, Dil Deke Dekho, Parwana and Zameer. Her forthcoming films include Ankahee.

She did join a financial company but a regular nine to five job couldn't hold her for long. She joined Satyadev Dubey's theatre group and started doing plays after convincing her parents a process that took a year. Armed with a foreign degree and an ultra respectable family background Amisha Patel was to be the CEO of the family business. Fate have something to do with her. Director Rakesh Roshan had already signed Kareena Kapoor opposite his son and had even started shooting with her.

When that association did not work out Roshan remembered his fascination with his school friend Amit Patel's limpid-eyed daughter at a sangeet celebration. Rakesh Roshan even remarked that if he ever made a film with his son he would take her as a heroine. And this way she got her debut film Kaho Naa Pyar Hai. After that she had given other hits also like Gadar, Humraaz. In 2003 she had a Parwane which was a flop.

Amisha Patel believe what is in destiny no one can take away from you. She replaced Priyanka Chopra in Humraaz. In her debut film 'KNPH' she replaced Kareena Kapoor.

Amisha Patel has the best collection of bags and belts in tinselville. Whenever she goes abroad she shops for expensive accessories. Her collection includes from Louis Vuitton, Salvotore Feragamo, Christian Dior, Gucci and Versace.

She also worked in Vikram Bhatt's Elaan in which she played a journalist. The Rising for which she thrilled to work with Aamir Khan. She played an innocent bengali girl, Jwala who gone through a devastating time before a Britisher comes into her life.

These days her personel life is also has a lot going on. She had Vikram Bhatt eating out of her pretty palms in venice and now when back home its Abhishek Bachchan who is showing a lot of interest in her. Both tuned in Morocco when they were there for Film Festival few months ago.
