SAIF ALI KHAN..........

Born to two illustrious parents, the Nawab of Pataudi and the erstwhile beauty Sharmila Tagore, Saif Ali Khan made a foray into the world of acting with Aashiq Aawara with Mamta Kulkarni. The film became a hit and Saif was hot property.

But after his next few films Dil Tera Diwana, Mr. Aashiq, Imtihaan, Parampara and many others didn't done well, he was on the brink of getting written off. Besides, people found him too "chikna" and feminine for a mainstream hardcore hero. Suddenly he had Yash Chopra's Yeh Dillagi with Akshay Kumar and Kajol, which was a major success.

His 'Ole Ole' and 'Hothon Pe Bus Tera Naam' numbers emerged chartbusters. Close on the heels of Yeh Dillagi, his Main Khiladi Tu Anari with Akshay Kumar also clicked. It was boom-time for Saif again, but not for long, because his next two releases with Akshay bit dust: Keemat and Tu Chor Main Sipahi. He was banking heavily on Hameshaa which again didn't work. He found relief with Kya Kehna proving to be an average-runner and Hum Saath Saath Hain, a medium hit and with debut director Farhan Akhtar's Dil Chahta Hai' with Aamir Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Dimple Kapadia a major hit.

Saif is married to Amrita Singh and has a daughter Sarah. His career may have seen its crests and troughs, but Saif has always been popular and in the news for his tremendous wit, keen sense of humour, immense affability and bold interviews.

Born to star parents Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore, Saif Ali Khan tasted his own share of success with his first film "Aashiq Awara" opposite newcomer Mamta Kulkarni. He could have done this much earlier but due to some reasons that was not possible. This movie did the trick for Saif Ali Khan.

Saif Ali Khan may not have been a good dancer or an actor as such, but it was because of his dynamic personality that he achieved whatever he has today. After his first movie, things had come to a standstill. He could have become a film-wonder, had Yash Chopra not offered him multi-starrer movies like "Parampara" and "Yeh Dillagi".In fact,it was the latter movie which revived the hope in Saif Ali Khan. His playboy image was appreciated and tapped. This fetched him more films like "Mein Khiladi Tu Anari" (Akshay Kumar), "Yaar Gaddar" and "Suraksha". There were traces of him in the industry only because of the former film. Others all were duds. But in the recent past, there came movies like "Arzoo","Hum Saath Saath Hain" and "Kachche Dhaage" which had some acting stints from this actor. Otherwise, Saif Ali Khan had strings of flops which were not able to do much for him. It is proved that even somebody like him with star partners needs to have talent to survive in the industry.

He has come off pretty good as the 'cool casanova' in Kundan Shah's "Kya Kehna" starring Preity Zinta and Chandrachur Singh. He has been signing lots of big banner films, which should help him reach the dizzling heights of success that every actor dreams of.

Critic, Taran Adarsh said "Saif Ali Khan... plays the evil Langda Tyagi brilliantly. His looks, his mannerisms, his body language, his overall behavioral pattern takes you by complete surprise. The actor deserves distinction marks for portraying the role with such realism that you start hating him after a point. Sure, the actor deserves the highest award for this role".
