SHARMILA TAGORE............
This beautiful Bengali actress, with a long chain of history, hit the Hindi speaking audiences with her charming ways in Kashmir Ki Kali. Though the film had a stalwart like Shammi Kapoor, Sharmila Tagore was able to leave her mark. She was the most flamboyant actress of her time and eventually gave many hits.
Her almond-shaped eyes and bubbly nature added with acting skills made her the most sought after actress in Hindi cinema. She had a fairy-tale like appearance on screen. Sharmila Tagore has worked with all the top actors of her time like Dharmendra, Shashi Kapoor, Jeetendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Rajesh Khanna and even Amitabh Bachchan. Some of her movies are Aradhana (1970), Daag, Safar, Amar Prem (Rajesh Khanna), Mausam(Sanjeev Kumar), Faraar (Amitabh Bachchan), Mere Humsafar (Jeetendra), Mere Humdam Mere Dost (Dharmendra) and Chupke Chupke.
So powerful was her acting in Aradhana that she was the winner of Filmfare Best Actress award. She was also received the Lifetime Achievement award by Filmfare in 1997. She has such simple good looks that when she played the Plain Jane with Uttam Kumar in Amanush, her beauty radiated in simple traditional outfits.
Sharmila Tagore was the most good looking actresses of her times and that looks still remain intact though she has put a lot of age. Of late, she was seen in Inder Kumar's Mann where she played Aamir Khan's grandmother. It's a pity that such talented and beautiful actresses have to do such miniscule roles to keep their going strong.

She also played the mother role in Mira Nair's 1991 film Mississippi Masala.
